This project is designed to provide the most functionally efficient and cost effective facility to operate and maintain a state-of-the-art Child Development Center for the Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point. The first phase is planned to provide care for 96 children. This new facility will enhance Marines’ quality of life by insuring that their young children are well cared for during working hours.
Phase One of the facility will be a 13.515 square foot, single story, slab on grade, masonry exterior, steel frame roof structure, with standing seam metal roof and exterior veneer of brick and prefinished metal panels. The Master Plan indicates an ultimate size of 30,326 square feet. The design will give the facility a “home-like”, or residential character.
